Page 9 - SB-Little Prince
P. 9
According to Buster, the Little Prince seemed to understand that he needed to change his diet and had even ordered the kitchen staff to fix him some soup. He understood the need to change but was not happy about it.
The Little Prince was sitting by himself in the Great Hall thinking about the conversation with the doctor, when the Royal Wizard appeared.
“What seems to be troubling you, my Prince?” inquired the Wizard. The Prince told him of the conversation with the doctor and how he hated to give up his sweet diet.
“Well, your majesty,” said the Wizard with a sly smile, “You are the ruler and may do anything you want. This doctor has no right to tell you what to do. He must think that he is the ruler of this kingdom. These doctors in this kingdom think that they are above your authority and should be telling you what to do. Soon they will be the rulers.”
Buster then told me that this was when the kingdom started to have problems. “What happened?” I demanded to know. Buster explained that the Little Prince thought about the conversation he had just finished with the Wizard and got really angry. He called in the kitchen staff and canceled his order for soup. And from that day forward, the Little Prince would eat only ice cream and pie, even when he really wanted a salad and sandwich.
