Page 16 - Whoos A. Fraid
P. 16

Fraid was very much like many of you. He did not want to do new or difficult things. He was often controlled by his Stinky Thinking.
But Fraid was not dumb and he could come up with reasons why he felt uncomfortable: “I don’t like them” or “They are different and funny looking.” Just because another person dresses differently than you, does that mean that you should be afraid of them?
It is also easy to have Stinky Thinking like Fraid had about staying out in the dark or eating mice. Of course, for owls, learning how to hunt at night and what to hunt (mice) is so important that the grown-ups don’t let you get away with excuses.
Unfortunately, in your world, human parents and sometimes teachers will let you get out of things with a weak excuse. They don’t seem to understand that giving in to your Stinky Thinking is going to cause you a lot of problems later on.
