COSMOS EXPLAINS WHOOS A. FRAID
Cosmos Crow here. I hope you learned something from my little trip into owl land. I sure did. I learned that owls are a lot like you and me. Fraid let his Stinky Thinking generate, into many situations, the emotion of fear. He let the emotion of fear determine how he dealt with these situations.
In most of the situations, that emotion was unnecessary and
he behaved inappropriately. You should be able to remember from other stories that your thinking determines your emotions and behaviors.
If you think about it, you can figure out what were some of Fraid’s stinky messages he was telling himself. You might even recognize that you tell yourself some of those same things in similar situations.
When Smartest introduced the young owls to the different types of owls, Fraid told himself this: “They are not like me and I don’t know how they may act, therefore I don’t want to be around them.” He even said that one of them looked like a hawk and was scary. Was he telling himself that one looked like a hawk to justify his feelings of fear?
You have different looking classmates and neighbors. If you choose not to be polite to them just because they look different, you are being just like Fraid.
