Page 23 - Whoos A. Fraid
P. 23
Strange foods... not for Fraid. He did not want to try anything new. If others eat something new or different are you willing to try? Or do you think like Fraid and make yourself so fearful that you won’t even take a taste?
It is really easy for you to say, “I don’t like how it tastes.” However, frequently you have never tasted the food being offered. You say, “I don’t like it,” when really you should say, “I am not familiar with this taste.”
An unwillingness to try new foods or activities may mean that you are letting some type of Stinky Thinking control you.
If Fraid did not want to be in the dark, he surely would make himself scared about flying high in a tree. There will be lots of things you are asked to do, from memorizing a poem to learning math formulas that you may find scary.
You can convince yourself that you don’t really need to learn this-or-that and refuse to try and learn. Then like Fraid, you may make fun of those who do what is asked of them.
If you are not like Fraid and are willing to try different things and do the homework, class work and housework required. You should not let the “Fraids” in your life convince you that you are wrong for doing so.
