Tooshy should seem familiar to all of us. We may be like Tooshy in many situations or in only a few. We may do well at school or work but get all anxious and flustered in social situation. You may even know someone who is like Tooshy most of the time. Once you make yourself anxious and worried it is difficult to do even the simple things in our Real World.
For many children, Tooshyness is a natural outgrowth of their irrational (stinky thinking) predisposition. They tend to expect the worst and it is always something that will overwhelm them. They are too afraid to make a mistake or appear foolish. This child may not be a disruptive student but they may fail to achieve to their potential. Unfortunately, they are also the students who will drop out of school, not by failing but by losing interest.
You want your child to recognize Tooshy’s thinking and the reality that it was Stinky. Tooshy’s thinking was not true or was an exaggeration and as such it caused his Not OK emotions of anxiety and fear. These emotions cause the Thumbs Down behaviors of not paying attention and his failure to learn anything that could help the Fraidicats.
