Then Paul’s mother asked me something that made me smile. “Is there some type of medicine that the zoo humans could give Paul so he would stop his Stinky Thinking?” “No”, I said, “this is something he must do for himself.”
“Paul needs to understand that if he tells himself foolish things he will behave foolishly. Just like if he tells himself scary things he will act scared.” Paul’s mother was beginning to understand and I said, “He needs to change his Stinky Thinking to “Good Thinking.”
Good Thinking is what you tell yourself about someone or something that makes sense. “I would like to go and play but it is study time now. I will get my lessons done and then I will have time for play.”
“But that seems too easy,” said Paul’s mother. “It may seem easy but it is not,” I warned her. “I have seen humans do foolish things over and over again until they finally change their Stinky Thinking to Good Thinking.”
