The NEWSWATCH Prroduction Shcedule will change, beginning in July, 2022, until further notice We will continue to provide the NEWSWATCH every month but only print and mail four issues per year, each quarter. The remaining 8 Months will be an Interactive Digital Issue.
Shenandoah Estates has had a continuous monthly newsletter since 1972. 2022 is the 50th Anniversary of the NEWSWATCH.
HISTORY OF THE NEWSWATCH
The original NEWSWATCH was a double-sided letter-size paper mailed to the residents. It mainly covered the development of Shenandoah Estates, which not consists of over 2,100 homes.
When one of the new residents found the Shenandoah Homeowners Association was looking for someone to produce and publish the NEWSWATCH, Ed Craig began publishing the Newsletter from 1986 until 1991. At this time, the NEWSWATCH became a 16-Page, Black and White Magazine printed bond and mailed.
Due to Ed Craig’s work taking him out of town a great deal, the responsibility for publishing went to Eldon and Linda Ledoux. They published the NEWSWATCH as a 12-page Black and White printed and mailed NEWSWATCH for 27- years.
In May 2018, Ed Craig and his wife Shirley Craig took over the publishing responsibility. The first issue was a new look, and still, a Black and White printed and mailed NEWSWATCH. Their first full- color issue is on the right.
COVID resulted in local businesses being unable to support the printing cost for the NEWSWATCH. During most of 2020 and 2021, the NEWSWATCH was emailed to residents. (Those who registered with our eMailBlast program.) The Interactive Digital Magazine was posted on the SHA website. Currently, there have been Digital Magazines in the website archive since 2018. You can review them back until January 2018.
The first Full-Color issue of the NEWSWATCH was published in September of 2018. The magazine ranges from 20 to 24 pages each month.
Due to the economic circumstances regarding the cost of publishing and mailing the NEWSWATCH, we decided to continue providing a printed issue each quarter and producing Interactive Digital Magazines the remaining 8 months, until further notice.
The NEWSWATCH is an integral part of what we provide for the Shenandoah Estates Residents. We will continue to find ways to bring the publication to you.
