The camera installation at Hagerstown has been installed and is working. This camera installation was a joint effort with The Lake at White Oak Homeowners Association. Other camera installation sites are being considered with the objective of providing the most effective coverage based on traffic.
The Day Out Against Crime will be held this year on October 27th from 12-3 pm at the St. Andrews Church on Monitor Avenue. Each year this event gets more substantial, and plans are in place to make this event special. Food and beverage will be served.
A successful ID on a car involved in a forced entry was solved by our Monitor and George O’Neal cameras. The vehicle was only in the sub-division for 47-seconds, but it was long enough for him to be picked up by the camera and his license plate was checked against registration. Our cameras are a deterrent, and when they help solve a crime, they earn their cost.
Baton Rouge Business Report is doing a story about Crime Commissions, and the reporter has been invited to the next federation meeting to learn more about how they work.
Architectural Report – Ken Buturla – Ken reported a homeowner on Chickamauga requested permission to install a fence on his property. Ken met with him and did not see any violation of the location but reminded the homeowner he would need to get a building permit before construction.
Newswatch – Eldon and Linda Ledoux sent their last NEWSWATCH issue out for April 2018. Eldon and Linda are retiring from the publishing of the newsletter after 27-years of continuous publication. (330 straight issues) Henry Grace, representing the entire Board of Directors presented Eldon with a plaque to commemorate his outstanding commitment to publishing the NEWSWATCH. Ed Craig will be taking over publication as of the May 2018 issue.
Beautification Report – Kevin NcNicoll The “YARD OF THE MONTH” winner for May in Shenandoah Estates is the homeowners located at 5368 Kennesaw. They will receive a $25 gift certificate from Cleggs Nursery. Congratulations! Residents are reminded that they can nominate yards for “Yard of the Month” on the website.
