Page 36 - Mousy Mouse Has a Bad Day
P. 36

Worksheet
You want your child to recognize that when Mousy was being realistic about her appearance, “Mousy thought she looked fine and was happy” she felt great. Many people just like Mousy have difficulty maintaining a realistic, rational view of their world and after Mousy met her friends, one with new shoes and one with a new striped dress, she told herself she looks bad or stupid and felt sad or angry.
Nothing occurs in a vacuum and we are often ugly to others who try to help us have a more positive and possibly realistic view of things. In this case, Mousy was mean and ugly to Jeff who was probably being honest about her appearance. Once you get your “stinky thinking” going, it is difficult for you to see things and others as they are in reality. Our perceptions are distorted as we look through our “mud covered” glasses.

She treated Jeff very mean and ugly.
