Nursery. Congratulations! Residents are reminded that they can nominate yards for “Yard of the Month” on the website. Kevin reported that new Christmas lights have been purchased to decorate the entrance sign on Antioch.
Metro 9 Report – Henry reported that a new development was discussed at the Metro 9 meeting last week. It is a new subdivision with 80 homes near Antioch at George O’Neal. It is named Villa at White Oak and will consist of 1700 square-foot zero-lot-line homes. Approximately 100 people were present at the meeting, and all were opposed to it. The developer wants to put 8 houses per acre, but the property is zoned rural. So, only 4 houses per acre are allowed.
Entrance Committee Report – Sandy Smith – Sandy presented photos of similar signs using the same concept as the plans drawn by the Newton Group. Sandra moved that, in order to move forward with the project, we approve the landscape architect’s concept design as presented by Sandy of a double-faced perpendicular sign on the south lot with a tower and flagpole and a re-facing of the existing wall on the north lot with stacked stone and a tower added to the end to match the new sign. Ken seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Christmas Yard Decoration Contest – All residents are encouraged to send nominations of Christmas-decorated yards to Mike Giroir at treasurer@shawebwatch.com. Must be a paid member of SHA to win. Nominations are due by December 14th. Mike will send a list of member nominees to the SHA Board by December 17. Board members will vote on the nominees with voting due by December 21. Three prizes of gift cards to Hi Nabor will be awarded. 1st place will win a $100 gift card; 2nd place will win a $50 gift card; and 3rd place will win a $25 gift card. Ed will put information about the decorating contest in the Newswatch.
The next monthly business meeting of the Shenandoah Homeowners Association Ltd. will be on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Jones Creek Library.
