Membership Report – Mike reported that 5 homeowners paid their dues in October, bringing the total paid members to 384 YTD. A membership committee meeting was held on November 12. The committee presented their recommendations to the board for increasing membership in the future. The recommendations included creating a welcome packet for new residents; utilizing realtors and closing attorneys to give brochures to new and prospective homeowners; mailing out in December a membership packet, including a Letter from the President, Membership Benefits Brochure, and a notice of dues with a return envelope to all residents; sending out a 2nd mailing at end of 1st Quarter; use of Newswatch to report numerically and graphically numbers of dues-paying residents; and create several awards for current members to be done quarterly. The membership packet will cost approximately $1800 to send. Mike moved that we send the packet in December in the format presented with any verbiage changes deemed necessary. Ken seconded the motion. Motion passed. Mike requested any input or suggestions be sent to Ed Craig by the end of November to be included in the printing. A resident in attendance, Terrell Bordelon, suggested a few other ideas to increase membership, including a drawing to pick a family to ride in the St. George firetruck and throw candy with Santa when it passes through the neighborhood for the traditional Christmas ride. His ideas were discussed.
