Page 6 - FS-Grizzly Bear
P. 6
I flew off from the “Fighting Man” (as I decided to call him), as fast as I could. I flew through the woods looking for the other two men and found the second one just as he was about to walk into a meadow full of wild flowers.
Just as the second man was walking into the meadow looking for butterflies, a different grizzly bear rose up in the tall grass and growled and snarled at him.
I was close enough to hear the second man say to himself, “This is the worst thing that could ever happen. Terrible things like this happen to me. I can’t do anything about it and something terrible and horribly painful is going to happen. All my family and friends are going to hate me for coming here and having this happen.”
He even told himself that there was nothing he could do to prevent the bear from hurting him. The more he thought like this, the more afraid he became. Finally, he became so scared that he took off running as fast as he could.
He was not paying any attention to where he was running and he ran into trees and tripped over rocks.
What do you think happened next?
Well, a bear can run faster than a person and because running is the type of behavior that excites a bear, the bear ran after the man ... and you know what happened next.
