Page 7 - FS-Grizzly Bear
P. 7
Well, well, well, not a good situation. I left the “Running Man” in search of the third man. I found him not too far away walking down a shady trail. He was whistling a little tune when a large grizzly confronted him.
The first thing he did was scream and say; “Oh my, this is terrible!” He looked really scared and I expected him to start running.
Then he said, “This stupid bear should not try to scare me!” Now I was sure that he was going to fight the bear.
But then he said to himself, “This is really bad. What should I do?”
He thought and said to himself, “Getting angry and fighting won’t do any good because the bear is much bigger and stronger than I am. Being scared and running away is no good because the bear will chase me down.”
He told himself that he was smart enough to figure out what to do.
As he calmed down, he remembered something and said out loud to himself, “Bears don’t eat dead things.” So, if I pretend to be dead and not move, even if he sniffs me or pokes me, I might survive this.”
