Why is upgrading an HTML t to the Responsive HTML5 format immpoartant?
The primary reason is “Legacy.” In the case of the Internet, Legacy meads, “Being left behind.” Fortunately, the new Responsive development tools are greatly improved and much easier to use, maintain, and upgrade the website pages.
It is not unusual for people to embrace new technology, “Kicking and Screaming.” Often people decide to stay where they are, why not? “Things are working now.”
Based on the fact the Prison Enterprise website is working now, you are not being forced to upgrade. However, the website is currently a Legacy site and at some point, will fail to complete with newer formats and developments coming to the Internet.
Chanler and I have an eight (8) year history withing with MotoCMS website templates. Over the past three years, we have upgraded all but one of my website projects to MotoCMS3 Responsive.
The Prisons Enterprises website is a unique case. It is an extensive product. Creating the site was a significant undertaking. I have spoken with the director of development at MotoCMS about the Prison Enterprises website.
After his team reviewed the website, today, he quoted me $650 for them to convert the current HTML site over to a full MotoCMS3 responsive website. I was surprised
by the quote as it would take me three or four times that for the amount of time it could take to rebuild the current website on a new template. I don’t have the ability, experience, and tools available to the MotoCMS programmers. He did say it could take ‘up to” 30 days to complete the conversion. The current website would remain online while working on the updated site.
