My cousins were disappointed about not getting any candy treats but I knew that things might get bad for Squiggy.
So I flew over and told them about what had been going on and got them to follow me back to the woods.
“They seem to have a large group going over to the dead oak,” said one cousin. “Let’s see what is going on. Maybe they have changed the celebration this year.” I watched as my two cousins took off flying to the old oak.
At the same time, Fuzzy Tail, Red Tail and the others were climbing the tree, throwing things at Squiggy in his hole. Just as the mob of squirrels was about to reach Squiggy’s hole, two feathered shadows passed over them. They screamed, “HAWKS!” and everyone began jumping off the tree and disappearing into the woods.
Squiggy stuck his head out of the hole and saw that all of the other squirrels had left. He heard a noise and when he looked up, he saw my cousins, the two Crows. They had landed just a few feet above his hiding place.
“What happened?” asked the Crow. “I am not sure,” replied Squiggy. “But everyone sure seemed upset.” “Yes, upset with you,” said my cousin. “What did you do?” “I did not
do anything. I just don’t like chocolate,” said Squiggy.
