keep calling the Sheriff at 389-5000 about suspicious vehicles and suspicious people, particularly at night after curfew and wearing hoodies and heavy clothing in the summer heat. He also stressed the importance of locking home and car doors, particularly if leaving a gun in the car. He suggested residents put cameras around their homes. A suggestion was made to create a database of residents who do have cameras to more quickly assist law enforcement in apprehending thieves. Chester Welch, Chairman of SECPID, discussed what SECPID is and what it does. He stated they would like to see more people involved. Information about SECPID, including meeting information and board members’ names and contact info are on the Webwatch. Chester stated that SECPID will begin working with the DA’s office on a new initiative similar to the Neighborhood Watch program. The next SECPID meeting will be held September 18, 2018 at 6:30 at the Jones Creek Library. Architectural Report – Ken reported that a resident on Ft. Pulaski wants to extend his driveway and replace a metal building. Tom suggested they may need a permit if they are modifying their driveway. Ken will advise. Also, a black water pool on Ft. Pulaski has been reported. Newswatch and Website Report– Ed Craig – Ed will set up a link on the Webwatch with a form for residents with cameras to register their home addresses if they wish. Beautification Report – The “YARD OF THE MONTH” in Shenandoah Estates for August is 17227 Monitor. They will receive a $25 gift certificate from Cleggs Nursery. Congratulations! Residents are reminded that they can nominate yards for “Yard of the Month” on the website.
Entrance Committee Report – Sandy Smith – Reported that he spoke to Craig Rhodes with Newton Landscaping Group. He will have a plan for us by next week. Sandy will meet with him at the site. Public Works – Ray Domingue – City is still continuing with street repair in Shenandoah.
Unfinished Business – American Flag Project – Boy Scout Troop 203 from St. Patrick Parish will take old flags for decommission. Flags can be dropped off at 5341 Stonewall Dr.
New Business — The next monthly business meeting of the Shenandoah Homeowners Association Ltd. will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting may be moved to the Jones Creek Library.
