President - Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Henry Grace. Pledged allegiance to the Flag. Sai Adharapurapu from Vivint Security spoke to the group about a free app called Streety that allows residents to connect to the camera systems of their neighbors within a 100-yard radius of their house for crime prevention. Residents can choose to share their camera footage either through a 24/7 camera upload or through uploads of clips. The app works with any camera system, but is completely on an opt-in basis.
Secretary’s Report - Motion made and passed to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed in the last issue of Newswatch.
Membership Report – Mike G. – Mike verbally reported that 28 homeowners paid their dues in May, bringing the total paid members to 324 YTD. Treasurer’s report will be printed in the Newswatch. President placed a 2-page ad in the Newswatch with information about what the Shenandoah Homeowners Association does and the benefits it provides to the members. It was a reminder to homeowners to renew their memberships and pay their dues. The Shenandoah Homeowners Association dues remain at $30 per year. Please send in your dues, or you can pay them via PayPal on the website. (shawebwatch.com).
Security Report – Tom Hirschey – The “May” Sheriff’s report in the Newswatch should have read “April.” The patrol stats will be printed in the Newswatch. Tom reported that driver feedback signs and the purchase of a radar gun are still in the works. He also reported that the original camera installed at Antioch at Monitor broke down. It was replaced with the newer, updated style of camera that is being used in the most recent installations. It was back in operation within 1-1/2 days. He also reminded everyone that the National Day Out Against Crime will be held at St. Andrews Methodist Church on October 27.
Residents have been requesting speed controls on Appomattox citing a lot of cut-through traffic, speeding, and commercial traffic. Tom made a motion that the SHA Board contact City Traffic Engineer, Mr. Partenheimer, to request
