Architectural Report – Nothing new to report. But in a follow-up, Ken reported that a resident on Fredrick who is building a 2-story treehouse without a permit was issued a stop order by the city until they can provide architectural plans and get a permit. Ken spoke to city representatives about the junk house list. Several cases have been closed; some have court dates assigned; 2 have been re-opened. There are many repeat offenders.
Residents on Pine Hill were in attendance. They had asked for a variance of city code to reduce their rear-yard setback from 25’ to 6’ and to reduce their side yard setback from 8’ to 5’ to add an open, front-facing, carport to existing residence. Variance was denied and homeowner is now in violation of code because the structure has already been built. Permit has not been granted. Resident presented letter signed by 5 of his neighbors stating that they have no problem with the structure. Board advised him to contact Carey Chauvin, head of city permit department. Resident was also advised that homeowners in the same filing can sue him for violation of subdivision restrictions for having front-facing carport within 2 years of the structure being built.
