deadline for next month’s issue is Dec. 14. Ideas were discussed to increase subdivision-related content in the Newswatch. A committee may be formed to gather content. A suggestion was made to publish a bio of each SHA Board member, one per month.
Unfinished Business –
SECPID Commissioners – SECPID has 2 open commissioner positions. Don asked attorney Sherri Morris to clarify if the terms of the commissioners we nominate are 1 year or more and to determine how commissioners can be removed if it should become necessary.
Christmas Yard Decoration Contest – All residents are encouraged to send nominations of Christmas-decorated yards to Mike Giroir at treasurer@shawebwatch.com. Must be a paid member of SHA to win. Nominations will be due by Monday, December 17th with the final vote due by Monday, December 24th. Three prizes of gift cards to Hi Nabor will be awarded. 1st place will win a $100 gift card; 2nd place will win a $50 gift card; and 3rd place will win a $25 gift card.
Membership – Final discussion about the membership packet was held. The packet must be given to the printer by December 12 and will be sent out by the end of the year. Membership dues are due at the first of the year.
New Business – Residents from Seven Pines brought up their concerns about the condition of the street itself and several houses on the street that are in terrible shape. They were informed that Seven Pines is scheduled for a complete overlay, but the time frame is unknown. The residents were advised to start calling 311 for the houses that appear to be blight houses and/or have junk cars in the driveways. Ken and Tom will address the items they can help with as soon as possible.
The next monthly business meeting of the Shenandoah Homeowners Association Ltd. will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Jones Creek Library. [
