In this portion of the story, we give examples of a rational challenge to these Stinky Thinking beliefs. You may remark that the
“challenges” are a mature way of thinking, which is correct.
But that begs the question of how do we learn this “mature way of thinking.”
Unfortunately, many children are not exposed to adults who think “maturely.” Even those who do observe adults using this mature way of thinking, have no access to the Good Thinking of these adults. To the child, it all seems to happen almost magically.
Success in any game or sport requires learning the techniques of the activity and then practicing these skills. The same is true of the “game” of life. Learning and practicing these and other “rational challenges” to Stinky Thinking will make anyone a winner in life.
