Hi, Cosmos Crow here to tell you another of our “Crow Fables”. Crow Fables are stories told to us by the grown-ups to teach us about life. This story is quite famous and its name is “The Character Tree”.
Out West, there are large hills called mountains and sometimes they are next to valleys. The mountains are rocky and harsh but the valleys are usually lush with lots of water and plants. In this particular valley, there were a lot of very large trees, hundreds of feet in height.
Crows, other birds and even small animals liked to live in the trees because they supplied us with places to live, and food, like nuts and fruit. They also provide safety from the predators on the ground.
