GEORGE ALLEN - Born August 2, 1925 – Died November 1, 1975 (50) He quit high school but received his high school equivalent while in the Navy.
George was born in Watson, Indiana, at 11:55 am. His father Marshall was a laborer, was 42 years old and his mother Jean was 36.
1930: Uncle George was 4-1/2 when the census was taken and he was living with Grandfather Colmore and his wife Lora.
1931: Per Orphanage Records: Taken to the orphanage on May 22, 1931, with other siblings. He was taken out by Alden Sparks on June 13, 1931 and adopted by Alden Sparks in September 1931. He was removed to Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Note: Alden Sparks was actually Uncle George’s first cousin. Alden’s mother Pearl was a half-sister to Marshall. (See information on Alden).
