husband was 27 when their youngest daughter was born. Their daughter Joyce died sometime after 1940.
M.H. was hit by an automobile and was 37 years old when he died August 20, 1949, from a fractured skull that was caused from the accident. In 1955, Mabel was institutionalized at the Madison State Mental Hospital where she remained until her death at the age of 60, on October 27, 1957. Cause of death was Chronic Brain Syndrome – Alzheimer’s disease with psychotic reactions.
Child of Colmore and Lora:
Mildred Fay Craig was born December 6, 1917. Her birth certificate states that she was born at
1:15 am to the parents of Allen Craig and Lora Brown. Colmore was 60 and Lora was 43.
Aunt Mildred and Uncle Howard
Although I cannot find a marriage record, it would appear that Mildred married Newland H. Payne sometime in 1933 when she was 15 years old. She states in the 1940 census that she completed 2 years of high school, so she must have married Uncle Newt when she finished 10th grade because she was pregnant with her first child at age 15 and Uncle Newt would have been 30 years old. He had an 8th grade education, never married and lived with his parents until he and Aunt Mildred married.
Uncle Newt and Aunt Mildred had three children:
Mary Ann – Born July 4, 1934 and died May 2, 1970, at age 35.
Mary Ann had health and mental issues throughout her teens and adult life. She was a sweet, sweet person. She never married and lived with parents until she was taken to a Louisville hospital where she died. One of the contributing causes of her death was uremic poisoning.
Steven Edward – Born June 10, 1942 and died February 12, 2006
Steve was 30 years old when he married Danna Lynne Richmar on July 1, 1972. They had 2 children, Neil Edward born November 21, 1973 and Erin Lynne born in 1975-76. Steve and Danna divorced.
Steve was 63 years old when he died of Complications of Alcoholism on February 12, 2006.
