INJUSTICE COLLECTORS Exercises : Making it go away
How do you make your “Injustice Collecting Spheres” go away? In the story, the squirrels could control them by not thinking about them or challenging them (their thinking).
In reality, you can do the same thing. By telling yourself that this is not something worth worrying, getting angry or embarrassed about and then not allowing yourself to think about it, your “spheres” will fade and go away.
By challenging them (your thinking) and then acting upon your rational thinking, you will “burst” them. Here is how to make your injustice collecting spheres fade away.
1. You feel a strong negative emotion associated with a thought about someone or something.
(Someone called you a na me yesterday and you get angry when you see them.)
2. Make yourself think about what you are telling yourself about that situation or person.
(This person is mean and hateful and should be punished for being ugly to me.)
3. Is your belief accurate or are you making it a ‘big deal” or “changing” it to fit your thinking?
(Perhaps this person is in the “habit” of calling people names, which is notgoodbutyouareoverreacting. Isthisoverreactionwhattheywant? O r, perhaps you were annoying them and then they called you a name.)
