There it was just as big as you please. Exactly what he was thinking and boy was he mad. He turned away, stomped off and went to the dance without shoes. By the way,
I heard that everyone else was dressed up and wore shoes. It seems that some of the girls would not dance with Joe Willie for fear that they might hurt his feet.
When I saw him a few days later, I asked about the party. He said it was terrible, that all the girls were stuck-up and he would never go back to another dance. While he was telling me this, I noticed another crystal sphere appear. In it was “No one likes me. I’m stupid and ugly and the others will make fun of me if I ever go to another dance.”
With the appearance of this new crystal, I noticed that Joe Willie seemed really sad and depressed. I told him what I had heard about the girls being afraid to step on his feet.
But instead of Joe Willie realizing that it was not because he is stupid or ugly, he got angry.
Then I noticed that he had this other crystal out and was looking at it. That’s right; it was the crystal from the
other day when I told him he might want to wear shoes to the dance.
