Tamaz Avaliani is a visual artist originally from Georgia, currently lives and works between
Alsace and Paris. Self-taught artist, Tamaz has developed a very personal ballpoint pen drawing
technique that reflects his master's philosophy and creative energy.
“The style I work in now is the result of many years of experimentation with the medium I have
chosen. During this period, I created a large number of diverse paintings and used thousands of
ballpoint pens. In this process, I discovered the enormous potential of ballpoint pens and to this
day this process gives me new discoveries and the opportunity to get better results.
My paintings are an invitation to dialogue. I 'assemble' the narrative like a mosaic, weaving in
philosophy, metaphorical imagery thereby setting an emotional backdrop, which viewers, based
on their own experience, transform into personal sensations’’
