Legal Article | Long Term Disability (Cont.)
The long term disability insurance attorney will provide guidance with preparing forms and statements to
avoid getting tripped up in the techniques used by insurance companies to forestall claims. The attorney
will also coordinate with treating providers to ensure accurate documentation and present occupational
evaluations to support the claim.
A Respectful, Informed Approach
My professional experience of over 25 years representing disability insurance claimants (specifically med-
ical professionals) is informed by a personal connection to dentistry. I write this not only as an attorney
who has successfully represented many dentists in LTD claims, but also as the family member of a dentist
whose own career was halted by medical condition directly tied to the repetitive work performed. I have
seen firsthand how devastating disability can be and how confusing and adversarial the claims process
becomes.
You work hard to protect your future. LTD insurance is part of that protection. Ensuring it works when you
need it most requires care, foresight, and, often, experienced guidance—before well-intended actions are
used against you.

insurance claims and advocating in litigation, including ERISA, private and association
policies of short and long term disability, life and long term care insurance policies.
