Welcome | New NCDS Executive Assistant

Katia Discua is our new Executive Assistant at Nassau County Dental Society. She
joins us with a background in customer service, paralegal, and administrative work
experience. She also has exceptional phone and computer skills. In addition, Katia
has an associate degree in paralegal studies, and has worked in law firms that
specialized in bankruptcy and personal injury cases. She is also fluent in English
and Spanish. Katia states that she is “very eager to work closely with every
member of the Society and help solve any issue they come across.”

On the Funny Side...

Here's something totally different but nevertheless “on the funny side”: Singer Billie Eilish recorded herself
while visiting her dentist to get her Invisalign attachments removed. She then made the sound of the hand-
piece a key component of her hit song, “Bury a Friend” on her “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We
Go?” Album.
Eilish told the New York Times, "I was in the dentist’s chair and they were shaving off my Invisalign attach-
ments, and it was this loud RRRRRRR sound and I thought it was so dope. I pulled out my phone immediate-
ly and pressed record."
Eilish's brother, Phineas — who was cowriter and producer on the track — added, "I found it very horrible
to listen to, but it worked great in the song."
