                   A.  INTRODUCTION
                       1.  Short Description
                          In this teaching  material, it will be discussed that  descriptive text is  a text  that
                          describes or describes people, animals or objects. The description is to contain the
                          specific characteristics that an object, place, or how an object is described. For
                          example, properties, physical appearance, and other things that are then written
                          down specifically.  Descriptive text also  provides  facts  about  how  Indonesian is
                          actually used according to the rules as well as how this text should be used. The
                          generic structure of the text description consists of 2 parts, namely identification
                          and description.

                       2.  Relevance
                          This  teaching  material  contains  how  to  describe  something  specifically.  This
                          something in shape can be anything, be it animals, objects, locations, and so on.
                          After studying  this module, students  are  expected to  be able to  understand and
                          identify social functions, text structures, and linguistic elements of descriptive texts
                          related to the description of objects, people, animals

                       3.  Study Instructions
                          The purpose of learning teaching materials is for students to understand how to
                          describe  something,  Identify  social  functions,  text  structures,  and  linguistic
                          elements  of  descriptive  texts  related  to  the  description  of  objects,  people,  and
                          animal.  And  also,  distinguish  social  functions,    text  structure,  and  linguistic
                          elements of descriptive text.
                          Here are the study instructions for learning this module:
                          1)  Understand each component of teaching materials from the beginning to the
                              end.
                          2)  Understand the main and supporting material by reading and interpreting it.
                          3)  Read various other learning resources that are relevant to the material being
                              studied.
                          4)  Discuss reading results in discussion forums through online facilities with other
                              participants and instructors.
                          5)  Do each assignment independently and formative tests through online facilities.
                          6)  Practice the knowledge gained from the learning process into daily learning
                              practices and reflect on it.
