Alumni Spotlight:
Damen Harrington (on right in picture) is a 2023 graduate of the KEC
Criminal Justice program. He currently attends Kishwaukee College and
is pursuing an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice – General.
“Shortly after graduating, I began working for Rochelle Police Department
as one of their first ever Community Service Officers. I currently work part
time at RPD, while attending Kishwaukee College online. As a CSO, I
respond to a variety of calls, however I am not sworn nor do I carry a
weapon, therefore I only respond to violent calls if holding a perimeter is
necessary or after the scene has been deemed safe. Thanks to KEC, I am
certified in CPR and First Aid. I plan on testing to become a police officer
for RPD after I graduate and become of age. If you live in or visit Rochelle
and see me in the CSO truck, don’t be afraid to wave and say hi!
