Executive Director Report
Well, we finally received a taste of winter. All of the snowfall and rain may
get us out of drought status for the first time since 1997.
The Chapter Loan Closet is really starting to grow; we received over 115K
dollars in Durable Medical Equipment last month. This does not include
medical supplies or thrift store items such as furniture for Veterans
Our April should begin with our Southern Arizona Picnic/BBQ in Marana,
the first Saturday in April at Ora Mae Park. Hopefully we will get the
reservations to hold the event.
You should have received a post card informing you of the upcoming
elections for the Chapter Board of Directors. We are also looking for
members to be on the Election Committee. The election results will be
announced just before our Annual BBQ and Board Meeting in Prescott.
th
That will be June 8 . A little early but we try not to interfere with Father’s
Day weekend. A post card will be sent for this event also.
Please vote and you want to run for the Chapter Board call Matt here at the
office; (602) 44-9168 and make sure you are certified to be a Board
member. National has changed many rules and it is best to check in case it
needs to be done.
th
April 13 is the Phoenix Bocce Ball event. It will be a one (1) day event. We
plan on holding one in the Tucson area after the June meeting. Our goal is
to develop regional events in the State until we can get a large enough
following to put a team together and compete regionally in the Southwest
area of the country. National PVA is looking to grow programs like this in
many different sporting events such as air gun and archery. All are invited
no matter where you live.
I am curious, do you like the new format for the Chapter Newsletter; the
fact that it now comes out monthly? Is there anything you would like to see
added or removed? Please feel free to let the office know.
There are many opportunities to volunteer for the Chapter, help raise funds
and even get your way paid to the NVWGs. I encourage you to call the
office if you’d like to help.
Be careful and be safe.
Peter Quinn, Executive Director
