Caregiver Support Program Expansion Phase I

• 10/1/2020 phase I expanded eligibility for PCAFC to allow Veterans who incurred

or aggravated a serious injury (including a serious illness) in the line of duty in the

active military, naval, or air service on or after September 11, 2001, or on or before

May 7, 1975.

• Participants prior to 10/1/2020 , Legacy Participants, must undergo a transitional

assessment to determine continued eligibility.

• All transition assessments will be completed this year by 9/30/2022.

• Eligibility determinations and requirements were established by Congress.

• Local facilities do not establish eligibility or determine eligibility.

• Legacy Participants found eligible will receive the change in stipend immediately

• Legacy Participants found ineligible will not have their stipend end until 3/2023.
