Executive Director’s Letter

Well, the summer is over and we will soon drop below 110 degrees.

The ACED put in some serious effort and secured $25k life insurance policies for
        Chapter employees.

Dawn, our Donation Coordinator hit it big again. She won the nomination and received

votes to win the third quarter of 2019’s100+ Woman Who Care Valley of The Sun
Giving Group for Ahwatukee. We will be receiving approximately over $10,000.00 by
                th
the 27 of this month. Dawn has raised the Chapter about $25,000.00 in cash this
        fiscal year.

The property in Chino Valley is on the market and we hope that it sells quickly. Our

long term tenants moved out and a little work was needed to bring it up to selling
        condition.

The Board of Directors is considering future fundraising ideas to give us regular cash

flow and a better future for our members. A real business would allow us the freedom
        to help more.

Speaking of more, Diego Suazo, our Chapter Sport’s Director, is looking for one (1)
day events to put on around the state. Ideally, we would have a minimum of 10
members and other disabled Veterans or community members to make it a good

event. If you have an idea, please feel free to email us at azpva@azpva.org with your
idea. It is time to start our rebuilding of membership and activities. Look on our
calendar for upcoming events we sponsor for other Disability groups.

State Fair is coming up and we will be covering the four (4) weekends from 1300 to
2230hrs. If you’re interested please call as we need our volunteers registered and
        parking passes set up.

Our new Board members have had their first meeting and we are looking forward to
their individual viewpoints. It has been awhile since we had new members and are

looking forward to increasing our membership and hopefully new members to replace
those of us who are in need of new blood to cry on the likes of Cliff Crase, Homer
Townsend, Frank Rigo and Edward Hutch Hutchison whose memorial is at 2pm
                            th
Saturday the 28 of September at the Evergreen Mortuary, 3015 N Oracle Rd, Tucson,
        AZ.85705
