COVID-19 Update:
• COVID-19 vaccine update:
o Who we’re vaccinating:
We’re actively reaching out to and vaccinating enrolled Veterans in VHA/CDC group
C1-A, which includes Veterans age 55 and older; along with front-line essential
workers of any age; those receiving chemotherapy, hemodialysis, those with a solid
organ transplant, ALS or a spinal cord injury.
Veterans who fall into the above categories are encouraged to call the Phoenix VA
COVID Vaccine Scheduling Line at 602-604-3915 to make an appointment. They
can provide additional information and assist with scheduling.
Those 55 and over may also receive a text asking them to schedule via text.
In addition, we are vaccinating Veteran front-line essential workers. Front-line
essential workers must be Veterans enrolled in VHA and includes: first responders,
education, food & agriculture, manufacturing, corrections, Postal Service, public
transit and grocery store workers. Veterans who fall in one of these categories,
MUST bring proof of employment in order to receive the vaccine.)
o Where and when we’re vaccinating:
Main Campus – inside the hospital (650 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix) –
Appointments Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon
Southeast Clinic – drive-through (3285 S. Val Vista Dr., Gilbert) – Appointments
Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Southwest Clinic – drive-through (9250 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix) – Appointments
available weekends 2/27/21 and going through 04/03/21 - Saturday & Sunday, 8
a.m. to 2 p.m.
Show Low Clinic – inside clinic (2450 E. Show Low Lake Rd., Show Low) – 400
vaccinations available for this vaccination event, which consists of two days
03/13/21 and 4/3/2021, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are still appointment slots
available.
o As of February 28, 2021, we’ve given more than 27,000 doses of the vaccine to Veterans
and employees
o Encouraging Veterans to take the vaccine made available to them.
• Visitation policy changes:
o Visitation hours of Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to
2 p.m.
o Only one visitor allowed at a time.
o No visitors under age 15.
o At this point, we are not allowing visitors into our COVID+ units or our Community Living
Center.
