In an effort for Pharmacy Service to provide expeditious outpatient prescription processing to Veterans with acute care
needs, effective August 1, 2019. ALL routine medications (including non-formulary medications), supplies and refills
and HIGH COST/HIGH RISK medications will be MAILED. EXCEPTIONS will be made for URGENT medications (i.e.
antibiotics, anticoagulants, and Emergency Department medications, etc.), unusual situations, such as no mailing
address or needing medicines before going on vacation.
