PREFACE/KATA PENGANTAR
in the success of our students. Meeting datelines and making all learning experiences count mean a lot
to us. When the year begins it seems like an eternity before the year is over, but now that the end is here, it’s
hard to believe that it’s closer than it appears. It is important to stop and reflect on and celebrate the
successes and learn from the setbacks. Some of the successes were obvious and continuous improvements
must be taken for excellence. Many small accomplishments, on the other hand, round out a successful year.
It has been my honor and joy to see so many accomplishments and successes through academic
achievements, co-curricular activities and community service projects. Our students and staff worked very
hard to be successful in every way.
Here at SHB, we are so proud of each and every one of them– their efforts are greatly appreciated! I am
especially proud of the attendance rate of our students during the second semester. Parents, you are doing a
great job getting your children to school regularly and promptly. Attendance is such an important factor
Annual SHB events are also added to a rich, educational dimension to Sekolah Harapan Bangsa
(SHB) which are in line with the school vision: Knowledge, Faith and Characters (The ultimate goals of
education). Our academic and character building activities like school immersion programs for secondary
levels, winter immersion to China, and academic competitions, Independence Day, Assemblies and flag
raising ceremonies, cultural activities; Mooncake festival, Chinese New Year Celebration, School production;
Journey to the West, Adiwiyata Program and other community service programs, Arts and hobbies for all SHB
community, are along with the end of year graduation program to name a few. We have improved our
communication, safety and quality of the teaching and learning experiences with updated activities in media
socials, regular newsletters to parents, WIFI access in our building, CCTV in designated areas in the school
premises, etc. Thus, parents can monitor, support and get involved in the learning journey as well.
Our Students Council also contributed to charity and other students activities along with our
afternoon tea with parents to build better communications in school. I would like to thank all parents’
supports and volunteers for all the hard work, involvements and supports. Similarly, I also would like to
extend my gratitude to the Management of SHB who are continuously displaying their ongoing commitment
and supports to provide a new multi purposes building and other educational facilities for the students.
Each year we experience change and this year we had a number of changes. This year at SHB, we have
done bridging programs and transition programs for national and international curriculum as an SPK school.
Another change is that our first graduating class in Year 12 graduate this year. We bid goodbye to the grades 9
and 12 students as they will move on to the next stage in their learning journey. CS2 and CS4 have also
completed their exams and we get them ready for new challenges. Congratulations to the graduates and
remember to embrace all the new opportunities and challenges in school, college and real life. A few teachers
will not continue working at SHB in 2022-2023. We bid them farewell and wish them the best of luck in their
new job. We will remember the contributions they made to the school. You will receive information regarding
class placements and events in mid July 2022.
