Dear Priory Community,
As we look back on the 2015-16 school year at Priory, we have so much to be grateful for! Priory’s campus is more beautiful than ever, our teachers and students are deeply engaged and moving with excitement into the future, and our beloved monks continue to guide us, keeping us connected to the all-important Benedictine values at the root of all we do.
The seeds of those values were first planted in our California soil back in 1956, when Father Egon was sent across the country by his fellow Hungarian monks to found a school. He made it to the West Coast, bought a small ranch, and opened a school for nine boys. So began Priory – Silicon Valley’s first start-up!
Years passed, and the tech industry sprouted up around us. We grew bigger and more bustling, adding girls and boarding students with a keen eye toward the future. Yet amid all that change, we continue to be guided by the same Benedictine tradition that Father Egon brought with him all those years ago.
It’s that very rootedness, that deep sense of sustainability, that makes this place so special. And it’s your support that has allowed us to bring that timeless vision so powerfully into the 21st century.
So thank you, Priory parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents and friends for sharing our values and believing in our mission. Thank you for continuing the culture of philanthropy that has allowed us to thrive and grow. Thank you for giving so freely of your time and treasure to help us do what we do best. As a result, there’s never been a better time to be at Priory!
