New and old faces mingled together this year to create an environment of learning like never before.
A brilliant teacher can literally change a student's
life. He or she can inspire a student so much that said student dedicates his or her own life to teaching. A teacher can help the unteachable student learn and make a “good student” a great student. Fantastic teachers do more than teach; they inspire. They inspire learning, change, and growth.
We are lucky enough have many wonderful teachers who come form various backgrounds. We have teachers from as close as Portola Valley and as far as Honduras. Since our teachers come from a wide variety of backgrounds they are each able to influence us each in a different way. Each teacher is able to impact the lives of their students and teach them the lessons they have learned over the years.
September found us welcoming new teachers in several departments. For example, English teacher Ms. Fogg came to the Priory all the way from Massachusetts, as she is quick to remind her students. She brought with her an undying dedication to equality and the Red Sox, as well as a passion to teach and encourage thought on a higher level than ever before.
The marvelous teachers at Priory inspire us every day. Without teachers, the school would erupt into chaos. Even though we sometimes complain when a teacher gives us a bad grade, lets us out late, or adds another assessment the week before a break, we have to remember that they are, have always been, and will always be here for us.
