The best thing? A nice cold dip in make waves the Priory swim pool.
The smell of chlorine. The hot sun shining down on the
ice cold pool. The rushing, cooling feeling of diving into a crystal clear pool. Tan skin. Beachy waves. Sunscreen everywhere. It must be swim season. The young Panthers of Woodside Priory had a tremendous season this year. With a new coach and a mix of old and new swimmers, the swim season was bound to be fun. The middle school swim and water polo team are two of the most popular sports in the middle school. The Panthers loved nothing more than to dive into an ice cool pool during those hot summer days. When asked what their favorite strokers were, the middle schoolers unanimously decided it was freestyle. When asking the water polo team about their favorite part of the sport, they decided it was the teams never ending dedication and hard work. What makes

both of these teams unique is that they are both co-ed. Students at Priory were super excited for swim season to start.
Emma Jaeger (7) explained, “I couldn't wait for water polo to start. I love cooling off in the pool when it gets hot out. We have a new coach this year so I was a little nervous. I remember thinking, 'Maybe this coach won't yell at us screaming that we swim like old grandmas... though I could be wrong.'” This new coach proved to be victorious for both the swim team and the water polo team. Both teams had great success this year and learned a lot about competitiveness. The teams both competed against the top teams in the bay area including school rivals Menlo and Sacred Heart. With teamwork, dedication, and practice the middle school swim teams had a season filled with victory.
