tradition of victory
Football has been called the greatest sport
ever made. This year, eleven seniors led the way to a second undefeated season. The Panthers left no doubt towards the question of their absolute supremacy on the football field.
Like usual, Coach Wise promised an undefeated season as soon as practice had started. Coach Sargent prepared the team to meet Wise's bold claim. Each player came to school two weeks early to train and prepare for the tough season ahead. Going undefeated and winning the league the previous year, each team played against Priory their hardest, looking to unseat the champions of the field.
Players on the football team know that football is not just for learning a sport. To many, football has developed life lessons that go beyond the playing field. Will Latta (12) stated, “I can't emphasize enough the fact that everyone should join football. It has taught me as much as my classes have, and the coaches have been critical in my development as a player and a person.”
Football has guided many of these players through their lives as they have emotionally and physically matured, and the graduating seniors will surely remember their last years as some of the best of their lives.
