The girls' soccer team had an impressive
season, where many new friendships were made, and old ones were strengthened. The captains grew as leaders and the team ultimately became a tight- knit fighting force that intimidated other teams.
When asked to describe the girls' team this year, Siobhan Gillis (11) said, “The team is really close this year and everyone is friends no matter how old they are, which is really important to have. There are a lot of games where we only have 11 people but that doesn't hold us back. Our assistant coach Tulin always says, 'We are going to be champions, I can
feel it.' It's great to be in an environment where we all love each other and play for each other. It's like we are a little family.” Of all the sports teams at the Priory, the girls' soccer team is the most like a family already - with their matching jackets and ability to leave early almost every day of the week because of games, it is rare to ever see a soccer girl not surrounded by her teammates.
Of course, all would be for naught if the girls were not having fun and doing well. However, their record goes to show that neither was a problem for the team this season.
