The boys had an excellent season, making a lot of progress on and off the field.
The boys soccer team started off the year well
in the pre-season tournament. They won their first match 3-1 against Lynbrook. Austin Mirabella (12) started off the scoring with a 35 yard, left footed shot that sailed into the top left corner, leaving the goalie helpless. Sergio Lopez (10) followed up with a goal of his own demonstrating his speed on a breakaway and then calmly placed it to the far post. After letting up one goal, they solidified their victory with a well weighted through ball from Tom Latta (12) to a teammate for the final goal to put the game out of Lynbrook's reach.
The boys soccer team continued their success into the regular season with a 5-1 victory against rivals Pinewood. It was a dominating performance that left Pinewood without a chance the entire game except
1. Brandon Zarringhalam (12) makes an impressive save. 2. Konnor Von Emster (9) dribbles confidently past a King's defender. 3. Austin Mirabella (12) winds up for a massive free kick. 4. Sergio Lopez (10) high fives his teammate after an amazing play.
for the late consolation goal that the Panthers allowed. They continued their success later with a hard fought tie against Eastside Prep. The boys scored early in the game, fighting hard for each goal they scored. Unfortunately Eastside fought back and countered with a goal of their own, but that was not going to stop the Panthers. Priory answered in the second half with a free kick from the center circle that flew into the top left corner, going in off the crossbar.
Throughout the entire season, Alex Oberman (9) and John Lee (10) worked hard up and down the wings giving our midfield and defense support while Ben Clock, Max Reines (11) and David Theis (12) held down the defense, and goalie Brandon Zarringhalam (12) produced many amazing saves.
