Up at the top of the hill, behind the monastery
and sandwiched between the outdoor basketball courts, the back field, and the llama, there lies a place so secretive and magical that few are able to enter it. The place, as we all know, is the tennis courts, and the chosen few are the boys' tennis team, who made it their goal this year to form new friendships and create a relaxed environment in which to better their game.
The team was coached by ever-present Priory faculty member Celso Onofre, who started coaching many of the seniors when they were freshmen. Knowing their brains and their game helped him make decisions that most benefited each individual player. Further, the seniors on the team had a specific vision of how they wanted their season to go, and were able to enact it in just the right way.

Howard Mu (12), a returning senior on the team, had only good things to say about the quality of his tennis experience. “It has been in-tennis,” he stated, making a pun on the assumed intensity of the season, “but it has all been really chill. It is so much fun to hang out with the guys in the sun, and everyone is so relaxed,” he continued, directly contrasting his original pun.
Though the tennis team had to suffer through a “conglomeration of failures,” as Howard put it, they came out stronger on the other side with better friendships, more accurate swings, and a superior knowledge of tennis than before. The boys continued to eat, play, and try to get above love in their games as they battled their way to the end of what was, for some of them, the last season they will play.
