Theperformingartsdepartment tolightsabers changes things up every year
with new songs and plays.
For over 15 years, Priory performers have
demonstrated the arts of theater and music. This year, the flashing light sabers were an enjoyable addition to the stage in the all-school play, a sci-fi version of Macbeth. However, a lot of hard work was put into making the light sabers. Mr. Sugden says, “That 13 of our 15 lightsabers were made by our students and Mr. Roth is amazing to me.” These light sabers are just an example of the ever-changing performing arts department; there's always something new. Every year, students perform new plays and new music onstage. Many students are particularly interested in the acting program at Priory and have performed for more than six
years. Matt Galloway, who has performed in two plays a year for the past two years, said, “I'm really excited to be able to portray the creativity of the Priory community and be part of an amazing cast with lots to offer!”
While the theater program performs three plays a year, the music program adds another three concerts. Ms. McFadden and Ms. Paulson have worked hard to push the music students to play their best. The music program can help students reach the requirement of one performing arts class. However, many perform for more than just one year, and they get to experience the different songs every year.
