Although they only participated in two meets and have fewer than ten swimmers, the middle school group has proven they are a determined team. They all have a passion for what they do. “Athletes swim, others just play games”, says Emma Solomon (6).
The Panthers had an impressive season with a milestone for each swimmer. Saul Mora (6) says, “I got a lot faster in backstroke!” They worked really hard, but also they enjoyed every moment. “We had a lot of fun and did well for sixth graders,” says Makena Serughetti (6) They had a number of comical moments too. “When I was going from butterfly to backstroke and pushed off my stomach. Only swimmers will get why that’s funny,” said Anna Dyckerhoff (6). Annie Boyle (8) also had to take extra caution for a weird reason “We blondes had to watch out or our hair would turn green!” The team really enjoyed their season and savored the time they spent as a community.
