A unique aspect of the Priory community is the on campus community. In addition to the typical high school activities and events, Dorm students get the added experience of community living spaces, a lot of bonding time, built in study groups, late nights and call of duty. Derek Abarca (9) says that his favoritepartofbeingapartofthedormcommunity are “the dinners and the people.” Dorm life is also unique in the way it brings together students and residential faculty. Ms. McFadden is new in the dorms this year and said the biggest surprise was “how different the students act outside of the classroom! They're so much fun to interact with when they let their guard down a bit” she said.
One of the biggest thing that sets the dormers apart from the day students is the great diversity. There are people in the dorms from all over the
world and they're all brought together under the same roof sharing different cultures and experiences. Miranda Prince-Figuereo (9) says that “the people make the experience a lot better.” Her sister, Mirthia Prince-Figuereo (11) adds that “Cecilia Cho has the most enlightening personality in the dorms.” Everydayinthelifeofadormerisanewexperience. “Everyday is a new day because no one's personalities are the same. Yuritzy Morales is always making me laugh.” says Alondra Manriquez (9) about how life is day to day in the life of a dormer. Something most people don't expect from being a dormer is that “you genuinely become more than just friends. You become a family” says Kalonee Wiggins (11).
