Unlike most Schools, Priory puts on more events for the middle school than the High school. Middle school dean, Mrs. Ambler, puts on 6 events each year, to support the growth and development of each individual's identity. Dean Caitha Ambler wants to support a balance between school commitments and social activities. “I put on events for the middle schoolers because it is important for them to have a balance of hard work and fun in their lives, they need social time together.” To put a dance together, Mrs. Ambler must hire a DJ the summer before, buy snacks and refreshments, enlist teacher chaperones, and organize the blackbox and the square. awesome events pays off. 8th grader Maisy McWright is appreciative for the many chances to connect with other middle schoolers, “I like these events because they give all the grades a chance to intermix, because during school we have too many classes to hang together.” Kathryn Mawhinney (7) agrees, “They are a nice break from school work.” Dances and events are a part of the middle school experience, they help balance and student, and ready them for high school.
1. Middle schoolers check out the hat table at the second middle school dance. 2. Seventh graders take a break from dancing to hang around in church square during the dance. 3. Seventh graders add a country flare to their outfits, to go with the night's theme.
