In 2008 Starbucks wanted to take steps
toward becoming more environmentally
friendly. They settled on the replacement of
their light bulbs, then incandescent and
halogen, to LED’s. In order to get light bulbs
to fit their needs, Starbucks asked GE to
create something for them. Once the bulbs
were available, Starbucks replaced every

lightbulb in every company-owned store
world-wide.
