The meeting approved the proposed water management plan for flood-prone areas and preparedness measures. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) was assigned to submit a proposal to the River Basin Committee to consider increasing the discharge rate of Bang Lang Dam to 18 million cubic meters per day. The decision is to be supported by tidal level forecasts, particularly the expected drop in sea level on 9 December 2024. In the event of a critical situation, discharge adjustments may be made to minimize downstream impacts. Efforts are to be accelerated to identify additional water discharge areas for Bang Lang Dam to accommodate the large volume of rainfall forecasted for mid-December 2024 by the Hydroinformatics Institute. Additionally, the Southern Front Center and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) are tasked with establishing a database of machinery and equipment to prepare for the anticipated situation. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is also urged to expedite assistance to affected communities still lacking drinking water, food, and sanitation facilities.%u2022The preparation of the water chart for the Sakae Krang River Basin, Wang River Basin, and Nan River Basinwas approved in principle.
