At Santos Football Club on the day of the trials Zelé
left the changing rooms feeling a little embarrassed
in his ill-fitting kit. He soon forgot all about it as he
walked onto the hallowed turf. It was magni ficent,
the pitch was immaculate, the stadium electrifying,
even the goal posts looked different, perfect; like a
beautiful painting.
The trials coach greeted him with a smile as he saw
Zelé’s much too big football kit.
